How We Work
Our process flexes. Our principles don’t.
We don’t arrive with a rigid playbook. We embed with your team, learning how you work and using your tools and rhythms where they serve you best. Together, we shape an approach for your organization, working towards your goals and within your constraints.
Seven principles you can hold us to.
01
Right-sized AI
We use just enough AI, and no more.
AI isn’t always the answer. Sometimes a simple rule beats a language model: it can be faster, cheaper and more reliable. When AI is the right call, we choose the right model, not the biggest, most expedient or trendiest one. Overbuilt systems cost more and are harder to trust.
02
Data
We fix the data before we touch the model.
Every organization has data. It’s often messy, scattered or incomplete, and that’s normal. We always start by helping you understand what you have, where it falls short and what the work needs. Then we get it into shape for the job at hand and build from there. Whatever happens, your data stays yours: governed, access-controlled and never used to train anyone else’s systems.
03
Evals
We spend more time evaluating than building.
In traditional software, development takes longer than QA. With AI, it’s the reverse. Evals are where most of the effort goes and where most of the value lies, so we budget for it from day one. An AI system is only as good as your ability to prove it works.
04
Observability
We build systems you can watch, question, and overrule.
No black boxes. You can see what every system did, why, and how it’s performing over time. Agents handle the volume, and your people can inspect any decision, question it, and step in when something looks wrong.
05
AI sovereignty
We design for your independence, even from us.
Sovereignty isn’t all-or-nothing. It’s a spectrum, and every point on it trades control against cost, speed, and capability. We help you decide where you want to be on it, then we architect to match. Wherever you land, you own the code, the data, and the infrastructure choices. You can swap models as the market changes, and nothing locks you into a single vendor, us included.
06
Human accountability
We never blame the AI.
AI can run the work end to end, but it can’t be held accountable. People can, and always are. Every decision the system makes traces back to a named person who owns the outcome and has the visibility and authority to answer for it. Together we decide what the system handles on its own and what needs human judgment, so ownership is never in doubt.
07
Continuous knowledge transfer
We transfer knowledge every day, not on the way out.
Many vendors save knowledge transfer for a rushed handover in the final weeks. We do it continuously. From day one we work alongside your people, explain our choices as we make them, and build the skills and documentation to run, evaluate, and extend the system as it takes shape. By the time we step back, your team already knows it.
Flow mapping
Understand the work before changing it.
We map the workflow with the people who do the work: who makes decisions, how data moves and where handoffs break down. That shared picture helps us decide what to improve and where people, software and AI each belong.
01 / Make it visible
Map the current workflow
Trace the work from input to outcome. Identify the people, systems, data and decisions involved, including the work that happens between tools.
02 / Find the friction
Question the handoffs
Look for delays, repeated effort, missing context and unclear ownership. Agree with your team on which problems are worth solving first.
03 / Shape what comes next
Design the next workflow
Decide what to simplify, what to automate and where human judgment stays essential. Use the map to choose a useful first change and define what success looks like.
Bring in a partner, not a vendor.
Tell us where your AI work is stuck. We’ll tell you plainly whether we can help, and what it would take.
